Irig pro duo audio interface is solid, apart from the proprietary cable, though they do include all three of usb-c, usb-a, and lightning versions. To make sure you get all three cables probably want to buy new.
Then just run the 3.5 headphone out to the Move audio in. As a bonus the interface has midi in out (on 2.5mm TRS-A) so you could sync your iPad Fx apps to the synthās clock if you wanted, or vice versa.
for @Gigagar and anyone interested ā i got Joyo MoMix Pro (available e.g. from Thomann) for my iPad-based hybrid setup, and hereās some details:
-
it works as a standalone mixer (fun fact is that itās not clearly mentioned anywhere).
-
in MacOS it just doesnāt show up.
in iOS / Linux / Windoze (no ASIO driver!) / Android you only get one USB stereo input (or its L/R channels separately) which is the mixer output ā no separate physical input channels, and one USB stereo out (or its L/R channel separately).
so, as an audio interface it is NOT multi-channel and not suitable for «iPad as effect processor» scenario. however, will do audio input job for recording something to audio tracks or sampler of your DAW. -
itās usable for what i got it ā as a mixer for a hybrid setup consisting of 2ā3ā4 hardware boxes plus iPad audio output.
the volume level of iPad audio output has to be set on your software side.
same if you use AUX In ā the level has to be set on your audio source side.
also, it can be connected to two phones/tablets/computers simultaneously ā i checked this works but did not explore deeper yet.
the bottom line: for the price and especially the size iām satisfied.
it works and probably rocks as an ultra-portable, ultra-simple mixer with some punk attitude ā but if you want advanced functions, itās likely too limited for you.
Thank you for the detailed explanation. I just saw Thomann having the ZOOM U44 on sale under 100 eur, will let you know if this works better!
Not sure if I need it. The Nave sounded really thin. The newest MoogāMarianaāon the other hand. Dope af
You were completely right without my āhoweverā.
Me:
Can it become class compliant interface?
Devs:
Not without a lot of work and even if it worked, you wouldnāt have any latency guarantees, so I should say: just no.
Case closed.
anyone tried this free app? came across it today, and the interface looks rather esoteric in the best way possible reminds me of loadker a little
*edit: this thing has some wild sample processing capabilities, and can get quite loud/glitchy, very fun.
Itās very very nice once you decipher the UI.
Thereās a :docs
button in the bottom to help.
yeah, was quite surprised how easy to understand it became once i checked the documentation
also helps that it can just stay on your screen as a reference if wanted
thanks for posting this
Need to Check the doc, looks so cryptic at first.
Dunno if any of you are interested but Iāve spent the last few weeks going down the rabbit hole of usb dacs that are capable of driving high impedance cans when using my iPad, itās a bit of a minefield to be fair and I was pretty much considering buying the dt900 pro x to replace my trusty 250ohm dt990s because most of the dacs that are capable of driving them are in the same price bracket as the new cansā¦
Anyhow fast forward to today and yesterday I got pinged an offer on Amazon for the creative x1 usb c DAC which admittedly is way down in the starter end of the market but for 25 quid it was hard to pass up cos you know, if itās crap I can return it hassle free⦠the surprise that rather than being total crap it is in fact really very good, tiny AF and it drives the dt990s way better than the standard apple dongle in fact Iād say itās at least twice the volume⦠winner⦠worth a look if you want to use high impedance cans on iOS, itās got an app to that letās you eq it too and also spacial audio profiles that produces a psuedo surround effect (itās crap on music) but great on the few trailers and videos I watched on netflixā¦
