Curious,

I’m looking for an Ipad app that does not require a lot of programming (i.e. has an OT template or is easy to map) I can use to control the OT’s volume, mutes, etc.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Look at Midi Designer Pro, Lemur or Touch OSC…

Different prices, different levels of complexity and capability…

Sure you could get Touch Osc or spend more and get Midi Designer Pro and knock yourself up some faders and mute buttons without any problems if that’s all you see yourself wanting to do

but…if you did go for Lemur though there are so many great templates in the user library that you will likely never need to program anything yourself (unless you have a serious desire to kill some time) …and the one for the octatrack by kraftf, although he says is unfinished will do all you want to do and way, way, way more. And although there’s one page in there that I haven’t quite figured out (probably the unfinished one. lol), it’s pretty easy to set up and work out what everything does.

for me it has been worth the lemur entry price on its own…

Thanks, Zeropoint -

I actually bought the Lemur app back in 2011. I dug it up, hooray!

But unfortunately, I forgot how to hook it all up. It’s rather complicated. And I’m realizing I can’t figure it out now.

Like, how do I get this template onto my Ipad? I can’t even get my Macbook Pro to talk to the Ipad via an ad hoc connection.

Oh well…

You can either download the template on your computer and add it to Lemur via iTunes, or download it on your iPad and use “Open In” to open it in Lemur. In Lemur, you’ll want to set midi target 0 to whatever you are using to interface with the OT (note that the USB connection on the OT will not allow you to do this directly).

I always recommend tb midi stuff. A lot cheaper and you can create everything in the app. No computer needed. I think Lemur is good but its not an easy task to create stuff on that one.

Got it working!
