Dear Elektronauts,
i want to buy the new Ipad Air 2 but have really no idea which size (16Gb or more)?
The idea behind to use is like Lemur or iKaossilator.
What is your experience and advise, thank you.
All the best,
waldemaR

Hi waldemaR,
I would advise against going with the smallest model (if 16 GB will still be offered, we’ll have to wait until next Tuesday to see). From my personal experience I use the IPad a lot more than I anticipated when I first got it and I keep a fair amount of content - not just apps - on it for when I travel. 16 GB would definitely be too little. I use a 16 GB IPhone and it’s a major PITA, as I keep running out of space (e.g. when updating the OS, 1-1,5 GB of free storage memory is needed during the process).
For running just the apps you mentioned, 16 GB wouldn’t be a limitation, though. At the end of the day you have to ask yourself what and how much you want to store on the device.

If purely for music, 16gb may be sufficient - depends on your samples and stuff. I got a 64gb Air for music and I’m nowhere near capacity.
If your first iPad you will almost certainly use it more than you think. I have Sky Go on it for movies when travelling, books, a small collection of games then about 40 music apps.
I was lucky in that I got my Air for £310 brand new (64gb & 4g) from a pal who worked in a trade in company. If I were to be buying at “real” prices then I would go for a wifi 32gb personally though I do use 4g a lot more than I thought I would.
