You can now build your own key layout, and store up to 8 inside Exquis’ memory, so it will be one solution for your need. But, as the lights under the keys shows you what are the notes inside the scale, I believe there is better way to fits your needs, can you tell us more about it?

I got an ExQuis a few months back, and have been playing about with it since. I definitely recommend the Deluxe model as it adds some strength and stability to the device.

There were a bunch of things that I thought could be improved on to make the standalone mode really great, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised to find that almost all of these have been addressed in the 2.0 firmware release. It genuinely levels the controller up significantly - and it’s reassuring to see that kind of attentiveness from the creator.

@cupfungus I saw your video, logged in today and saw this topic and was going to post it but you beat me to it! Great overview, I am really curious about the Exquis. You mentioned customs etc, was that particularly painful?

Thanks! I love weirdo input devices and have tried/own(ed) a bunch including the Linnstrument etc. Genuinely impressed with how capable this is for the cost. Customs/import tax to the UK came in at about 60GBP - but I wouldn’t use my situation as a barometer as it was a promo unit. If you order from Thomann the cost should include VAT/shipping, which means 248GB or thereabouts which is honestly kind of a bargain for what you get - especially with the latest firmware changes.

Is it possible to change the tonic and currently selected scale over midi? Say if my sequencer switches scales, it would be great if the device reflected the current scale. Possible?

I was thinking about getting a keyboard with Poly AT … MPE … and maybe this one is it :loopy:

However, there are two things I am wondering:

  1. Is it possible to change horizontal tilt to something else than Pitch Bend? (Respecitvely in general, what press, tilt etc. do)

  2. Is it possible to disable Note On/Note Off, so it could also be used as a Controller (AT, MW, BC) similar to a Faderfox?

Has anyone tried a Tonnetz layout on an Exquis? With the editor available it should be possible, right?
