Introducing Tonverk

That changes things…

Curious if that means you can play and have it capture it like this as well. That unlocks the sequencer in a very new way

This is possible.

You haven’t seen that on Digitone II?

According to my SW rep, the price on their site is inclusive of tariffs.

I don’t own one

Well I guess everything I said was wrong. That’s good!

It was one of the larger changes to the sequencer. Microtiming, velocity, and length per note are captured in live rec and can be edited on the step they are captured on.

Note: having quantization to 100% will break said microtiming.

Your point still kind of stands though wherein the polyphonic devices could benefit from having a one press strum play mode (arp is not good for this).

was excited but sticking with dirtywave m8 and monomachine for now. Doing multisampling stuff on ableton seems more straightforward, but hey that’s just me ! I am sure many people will have a blast with this one

I’m also curious to see what’s inside, they do say in the video that it’s a new platform, it has USB-Cs, sooo … new chip? Same architecture/instruction set?

I think the YT chat was shameful, to be honest.

So midi from Ableton expressive chords recorded into tonverk.?I’m going to try this and see if it works.

I’ve often criticized ELEKTRON but this box is such a homerun, delivering so much i had been asking for for years like enough steps or a Filterbank effect (ok i would buy a Tonverk for all the incredible fx alone) but now also those midi lfo posibilities…

2 wishes: midi fx like on the Hapax and load scl scala files

superficial i know, but i wish it looked a bit cooler. something a bit plain and “empty” about it…might be the pad numbers (mostly) not being underlined., generally a bit more blank space compared to other Elektron stuff…dunno, feels like a mock-up still

If the implementation is similar to the DN2 then it’s going to be kinda ass at capturing live poly playing, especially with a lot of harmonic movement within chords etc. If you change your track scaling to something like 1/2 then its even worse. it’s not a piano roll recording, it’s still a tracker.

However you can manually input pretty much anything into the note edit sequencer and its very versatile & robust

My boss’s boss has a French accent so the video made me kind of paranoid.

what an evolution …. Anyone familiar with Electrons older instruments and seen oT develop this is a really respectful acknowledgement of users requests whilst not making the ot out of commission as that is still its own thing. Really excited about this and the possibility with the sub tracks n knowing electro it will create all kinds of weird options. Cool AF

I was under the impression that the new digi’s were also built on the new platform. Do they mean this new size then, or is the entire architecture renewed once more?

Can you explain that in more detail? Sounds intriguing

Haha I’m not techy but if it’s the former that’s less of an excuse for no slice/TS
