What does that mean?
itâs strange to me that Elektron (and many hardware companies) release stuff before itâs ready . they have a very successful line of products, surely they canât be that strapped for cash.
Itâs not a latching switch.
Itâs not a âpermanent switchâ as on DT/ST/DN etc, but a sort of âsoft switchâ: It goes back to the initial position once you pressed it.
Will you keep the DT2 since getting the TV besides the obvious slicing and machines which I think in time will be introduced into the TV.
Page loop is a shocker and quite telling. I donât like that it feels so unfinished, itâs a really unpleasant trend across industries nowadays (releasing early and upgrading it later)
Same feelings here. I need to learn how to modulate the effects more. I wasnât really getting much movement out of my pad samples. May be my issue as I still learn the machine. I still am not sure if I have found all the effects. Iâll route a track to a bus and then into the master but I think Iâm by by missing some the new reverbs and delays. Sample a piano from vinyl into it and got some decent ideas but nothing really grabbed me. I may just be tired today and not that inspired.
I think tomorrow I will take a fresh approach with it. Good news is the sampling quality is excellent. Bad news for me is mine records very loudly but the output is low. I canât figure out how to boost it. Everything is at 100 and the volume knob is maxed as well. It may be by design but mine peaks at around -18db, which doesnât feel right.
I couldnât even get good ideas going just focusing on modulating the LPF. I think I just need to sleep and take it on while rested.
This sounds more negative than it really is. I see a lot of potential with this box.
It definitely needs an update. They will need to give it a lot of love very quickly to combat the reviews that will be pouring in.
absolutely⌠we should stopp buying early ![]()
I believe Elektron is very well aware of the TVâs current shortcomings in software and put this card saying âcheck for updates todayâ inside the box for a good reason.
My interpretation of it is âweâre working very hard on getting updates out to you ASAPâ. May have faced unforeseen issues during development, itâs a new platform after all, which most likely means code could not be ported from older devices easily (=shitload of effort).
There was obviously a race condition between the marketing and development departments, so I can partially understand all the frustration.
yet, letâs not be angry but patient and letâs enjoy what it can do for us today ![]()
no absolutely not
Oooof, Is there mod destination for this?
If this is a complete new platform (CPU, coding, etc.), I can imagine that not everything is going well. I guess users need to wait till the most bugs or problems are somewhat solved.
I think Iâll wait till my birthday early next year. This could potentially be a tool from Elektron I could buy.
Btw according to a guy from another forum, it seems like it is an ARM-design, wifi and Bluetooth also onboard
no mention of Overbdrige in the manual at all
Yes, one of the destinations on the Sendsâ LFOs is Routing: Output.
Whats wrong with -18dBFS (peak)? Thats more than enough for a clean audio capture at 24bit bit depths. If the noisefloor is low, as it should be, boosting in post will not be a problem in the least
Also, I have to aks, are you connecting via USB audio or via the analogue outputs? And if via analogue outputs, what are your audio interface inputs specs in terms of max dBu they can take?
When I bougth my digitak we can not even listen individual step with func + yes. No machine, no srr, double filter, etc. Elektron make tons of efforts to add features on their device. If this new tonverk is on linux kernel and coded in rust / c++, itâs pretty sur they will add a lot of impressive feature that nobody expect.
This is being picky, because there is a lot of modulation, but Iâd love to be able to assign the 5 track mod sources freely. Quite often I could sort-of-use a 3rd LFO on either the track or the FX. But yeah, really thereâs a lot of scope there so not a big complaint.
I suspect CPU usage may be why some of the new effects (Daisy Delay, the new reverb) are only available on sends, i.e. it can only handle a few instances at a time. Personally Iâd like the choice to insert anything anywhere though (with wet/dry as appropriate), it is a little annoying to be restricted, but I can also see the logic if theyâve designed it so it never exceeds its CPU headroom â having to manage CPU usage would take you out of the zone.
I donât entirely disagree, but curious to know what kind of ones youâd like to see added!
Agreed. I also really like the new Perform mode, it just creates a very simple mental model of âmy changes are temporary vs savedâ
Yeah this is a little annoying. And I do notice general lag on the device. Hopefully thereâs some stuff they can tweak as it feels like the box is struggling to prioritise everything. Audio is stable though.
I think the preview of multi-samples is just playing the raw sample, and some of the provided multi-samples (e.g. saw/sqaure) are single cycle waveforms, so the âtickingâ is just the single cycle. Would be nice if it gave a proper preview.
Can someone confirm that you cannot load user multisamples onto the device
Thanks
