Introducing Tonverk

i also like to take a more cheerful take on it. They most certainly will update this box, so its almost always clear your elektron box will change over time

they essentially just are letting us buy the box early at a lower price

I don’t mean this in any political or negative way towards elektron, but you are essentially buy it before it inevitable $200 price hike in a few years

just the way of the business

just as if you bought the DT 2 at release you got it for cheaper than if you wanted one now

It seems to be a snug fit for a Digi, isn’t it? I’d pick a ST

…or at least that’s how I’m imagining my desk setup soon

I’d be very curious to hear something about your workflow eith Elektrons+Hapax, I always go back and forth if it’s worth keeping the Hapax now that we have nice poly sequencing features on the last two Elektron boxes (DNII and TV obsvly)

I mean, I love my Hapax, but lately I found myself more inclined to work directly on the Elektrons.

Maybe it would be better to eventually move the topic into the Hapax thread

wow… the fun is fading pretty quickly. multisampling is totally useless. notes are very often delayed. very unpredictable results. my MPC live 2 could do it better 3 years ago. what a shame. such a great box and so not so great software. are there any TE system engineers working for Elektron lately? so I will check other stuff… will try multisampling after the next fw upgrade. well well well…

oh wow… and if you try to rename a multisampled instruments you can not. if you do it anyways in the sample browser it’s still in the list of multisampled instruments available under the old name but loading fails.

I seem to recall the manual saying renaming content is not advisable as all references to the names need to be changed… so if you rename a multisample, yet the txt file still references the samples with the old name, there will be errors…

22 minutes have passed…veredict?

Fair enough. Need to source one.

just rember to clearly label it when you do… so as not to mix it up with regular USB C cables

This was one of my first questions on the Tonverk thread … if it’s not using the old method of a file hash then it’s likely to be file path reference . Moving / renaming will likely break things

but seriously… I can’t help it but I love it nevertheless it’s unfinished. It’s unfinished but it is very inspiring anyways. hope they will fix and add a few things and I’m sure they will…

This tidbit from the manual suggests to me that TV doesnt use file hashes

The thing looks interesting, haven’t seen anyone dare to mix the octatrack with it yet which seems like a too-powerful combo but with the send and return design on this maybe it could acompany the OT and give it an actual good reverb and such

yes the effect-stuff is fun but a lot of basic things are missing. but it’s a cool effectbox. will become a full song creation machine hopefully with the next firmwares.

that’s certainly interesting, but not the common experience
I am not sure what country you are in but in the States its $150 more now

The (auto sampler) multi-samples consist of a TOML metadata (.elmulti) file which directly references the WAVE file by name. (Some additional details in the Tips & Tricks thread.)

I very much approve of the melty face animation on the drop outs effects.
