I think this thing could be pretty big outside of the usual crowd of ‘the Elektron faithful’, and Elektron probably want to show some cool examples of how to use it as well. 
So bring on a bit of hype.

Admittedly, Outbox has become a bigger deal than Elektron initially expected, so a little bit of hype makes sense. I’m still a bit surprised because if I were them, I’d be afraid to lead people to expect an OT or MD by teasing it this way.

I don’t currently have a Digitakt II, Digitone II, or any of the models that only have stereo outputs, but this is still probably the biggest limitation of these machines. Being able to turn these little boxes into 10 outputs is a pretty big deal for anyone who wants to run them through external mixers, apply external effects, etc.

That was my initial thought but then logically went back to reason when someone mentioned the 8 O’s in the word “out”.

And believe me, I wish I wasn’t so rational, and that I’m wrong. But I do think Outbox8 is a great device, and I don’t need a new machine:

Never ever it would be Octatrack 2.
We now have as 4 sampling able boxes, and 2 that can play samples.
Another one does not make sense.
The Outbox is proper teased with Oooooooout, so that is.
Perhaps they’re releasing multiple utility devices in one day? This is purely wishful thinking from me, as someone who has no need for an Outbox but am very interested in a Powerhub. And if you think Outbox isn’t sexy enough for a hype post, then Powerhub certainly doesn’t warrant one!

I’m wondering how they had estimated the number of units produced on release?
there must be something appealing not revealed yet that will generate sales…
as a sales forecast of these utilities might not be easy, as not everyone will need these type of products/utility
let’s see what they have cooked for us…

it’s simple , total compatible unit sold -1 , the -1 is you looking for one as every retailer is out of stock
