Coming back to the real world to buy a Digitone II after realizing Iāll be able to make some loud noises with one.
16 iirc
Will used MIDI tracks from DN 1 projects be properly imported? Will they open in the last 4 tracks?
How do you call the āharmonicsā on first SYN page of FM TONE (aka DN1 engine)?
They will be imported to tracks 5-8 iirc.
I confirm.
Excellent, thanks.
Me gearing up to write āmidi arpā on the upcoming Digitone II wishlist thread
edit: someone beat me to it dang
Just watched the Sarah Belle Reid video for the second time. They couldāve simply named this machine FM Drum and I wouldāve probably bought it. The percussion stuff reminds of a different take on what I love about using my Octatrack to midi sequence my EssenceFM, but in a much smaller package thatās easier to take to gigs
the SH4d offers much more than DN2 in my opinion
is the GUI that bad? I was going to pick one very soon
Yes. Unless one wants to use presets and not menu dive into sound design ā¦
One of my highlights: Filter can now be routed into the overdrive, which is one of the many huge new features. Away with the grey blanket!
Comparison:
Overdrive -> Filter = meh
Filter -> Overdrive = Equals putting an Overdrive Pedal after a Synth
A bit acid
right not for me than - I like to design my own sounds
I might get a DN2 and pair with a DN1, instant Autechre sounds
Has Roland become a Presets company?
Roland and Yamaha seem to think thatās what their synth customer base wants. I donāt really understand it. Of course the user still can program sounds on those synths, but itās almost like they make it difficult on purpose.
Are they that cocky?
Keeping my OG DT1 for sequencing my B Model 15, Roland Sh-4d and a little modular rack. After traveling next summer, first time in 17 years, will sell the Roland and get a DN2ā¦I just need to waitā¦need that money for Europe tripā¦first time kid has flown so it will be worth itā¦yes, WAITINGā¦omg.
FTFY ![]()
I truly donāt know why they do it.
Company-think is weird. Elektron is kind of at the other extreme, they seem to understand that if you buy a DN2 you will try to make new noises with it.
