Sooooo does it have a synth engine?
Haha couldnt resist
looks like a damn sick box
sweet demos guys
Does it only do N ?
with a box so fun do you guys think you would run out 1gb real quick?
^ tbh I think so.. at least if you record some longer things.. filling up a project with 64MB gonna happen quickly. if you keep it short & mostly one-shots, it should be fine for quite a while imo.
I'd rather have a selection of powerfull samples instead of heaps of choices.
Aka large library syndrome.
Cuckoo/Cenk collaboration video: wonderful performance tool. DT ordered.
A few thoughts…
Wondering if it is possible to lock-out individual tracks from the Control All scenario.i.e let the kick track carry on as normal while all the other 7 tracks are undergoing some Cntl All mayhem.And if that is possible, would it be possible to set these ‘lock-outs’ to be conditional.i.e track 5 has a 50% chance of submitting to whatever Cntl All scenario is happening etc;
Would be great if the chromatic mode had a scale lock mode: i.e lock to maj/min/harm min/phyrgian etc;
Have some kind of mirror mode so that the midi engine and sample engine are somehow linked. i.e.you get a bass line sequence going in a sample track and there would be an easy way to automatically mirror this as a midi track.
random name generator for samples - check
Timestretch - gotta have this - it’s 2017.
Individual sequence Track lengths - conditional i.e. individual pattern length changes randomly every 4th pass.
Sample tuner option i.e. something like Ableton’s Tuner plugin - so you have a visual indicator of the current samplestune so you can dial in the correct pitch for your track.
I think the DT will be more suited to collecting sounds and then exploring them with the editor, rather than triggering phrases/stems and loops...64MB is a shed load of time and the 1gb storage is generous also.12 mins mono is a whole world of sound to explore and manipulate.
That's just me though!
That would be nuts, imagine the power of a conditional sequence.
Pretty over the top to say there is entitlement in regards to requests for a sampler (not like it's the Un or anything). If anything people are doing elektron a favour by asking for functions, particularly when the competition is so hot in synth land. There's also the concept of elektron users setting very real expectations for the company.It's always best to pay attention to your users.
The page button has a shift function labeled scale underneath it. Is that going to be musical scales I wonder?
That's timing scale...
Doesn't the Rytm only have 64mb in RAM per project as well? I have plenty of live sets that have 4 bar loops, drum loops, longer textures and more. Never reached RAM limit on a project.
aye.. me neither! it's just quicker/easier to get sample data into the DT, more likely to hit limits.. but guess it should be fine for most tbh
so any takers on the master section?
me personally would guess graphic EQ, similar to MD...tho compressor would make sense as well..
but, Cenk had a big smirk there, so maybe something more fun/special..?
Maybe it's some sort of character select. Perhaps some tape warmth effects.Oooh... I hadn't thought of this before but what if it's for switching between different sampler characters like the TAL-Sampler
Not always, and certainly not all users (no matter how entitled they may behave).
Rather than demanding attention, I get more mileage out of trying to listen. It takes more effort but in the end I think it makes for better products.
IF they eventually add synthesis to the DT I will immediately sell my Machinedrum to buy one. Seriously. I just can't see a reason to buy one if I already have a MD and OT.
I'm thinking they have a synthesis one in the same form factor on the way.
