Is there currently any possibility to render a digitakt song-masteroutput into a daw or something like this via usb?
Yes. Newer Elektrons are USB CLASS COMPLIANT.
I tested with iOS and Android.
on windows (in bitwig) i can only use the WASAPI driver which doesnāt offer me any input channels
Thanks. It actually doesnāt feel too bad on my lap, so all good.
Iāve bought an aftermarket cable for the freedom too, so the psu cable issue is a moot point.
Just bought one from Music Matter in UK, 10% off in their summer sale. Got it for £762.
Asio4all?
Iād been creating a template project with tracks setup for all my external gear, the right MIDI channel, and bunch of useful CC mapped (picking the ābestā 16 CCās often took ages!)
Then I had an small epiphany, presets! Itās great that MIDI tracks can also be saved as a preset too

Thatās great! Is that possible to export/import?
the honeymoon period is over and the dtII is packed away for the time being
i was able to emotionally articulate my disenchantment when placing a perfectly bpm-aligned loop into grid modeās linear locks and still somehow getting clicks and pops that could not be extinguished by an attack envelope or any other workaround commonly suggested
for all intents and purposes, digitakt 2, like its predecessor, is still a one-shot machine
taking this into consideration, is it a genuinely thoughtful or creative innovation to just double the tracks? does anyone need 16 tracks for one-shots?
does it strike anyone as cynically sales-driven to restrict the few updated sequencer conditions to the dt2? as if it could not be sold on its intrinsic merits, but only by what the other machines now lack?
is it not just a little disappointing that the best elektron could come up with is basically just squeezing two digitakts together and calling it ādigitakt 2ā?
iām sure people more talented than myself will make amazing music with it- i look forward to taking it out of storage when some updates hopefully make it a little more serious
No, I donāt think so. DTII was released only a few months ago, and the team has been focused on ironing out bugs. Also, they all had a nice fat summer vacation, European-style. Where in all of this would they have had time to even consider updating older machines?
Patience is key. This is still a small company, regardless of the size of their user base.
Same here. Packed back in its box. It will sit in the closet until Elektron decides to give it some attention. Using my DT1 still. I should have held off on buying the DT2 until it was ready, actually might even sell it, DT1 serves me fine.
Damn. I had a M8 in my cart this morning, but decided not to pull the trigger due to the DT2 still tempting me. Yāall helped kill the gas again lol.
I like how the M8 can handle stereo samples without clicking issues. Everyone argues itās due to the nature of stereo samples and a bit more processing, but I donāt buy that argument.
I also donāt like how retrig options still arenāt offered with the midi machines yet.
If you zoom in a Stereo wav file, youāll often notice that the zero crossing isnāt at the same place for the L and R channels.
I think ways to solve the issue exist, but just havenāt been implemented. I also donāt think itās as complicated to implement as everyone says.
youāre correct- they do, one of them would be a crossfade function
right again- considering my $5 koala app can do it, itās probably not
Looking at OT, Iām sure it does too. Why isnāt implemented yet, I donāt know. Time, knowledge, omission?
This petty frustration-fueled conspiracy theory ignoring reality, again?
These can be considered as bugs: have you even written a ticket to Elektron support?
This is overlooking a few new features with a blatant bad faith.
Consider selling your unit to someone who will have fun. I know I do. A lot.
There is constructive criticism and fruitless frustrated ranting. Later is better kept to other places.
Edit: @jemmons does it with more tact
I think it depends on what you expected. What do you think is missing from the DT2? What kind of updates would help you to make amazing music with it? I donāt think it is just squeezing two digitakts together, elektron has taken one of the greatest samplers and managed to improve on pretty much every aspect of it: 16 stereo audio or midi tracks, 128 steps, new trig modes, scales, selective ctrl+all, selective compressor routing, new trig conditions, expanded storage and ram, velocity, aftertouch, mod wheel, and breath control macros, 3 LFOs per track, master distortion, chorus, comb filter, and so on. They didnāt reinvent the wheel, sure, but theyāve perfected what was already a great instrument. Itās not going to make you any more talented of course, but if what the DT2 offers is not enough for you to make music with, Iām very interested to know what would be?
omg this explains everything
Clicks can occur at the end of slices ā shorter LEN, Release.
No problem with accurate drum loops, single cycleā¦
If you want to loop continuous sounds like pads you can prepare them with a DAW.
I doubt crossfade can be done because of monophonic behavior. Pipo loop, zero-crossing selection would help.
Same problems with Octatrack, I have it since 10 years, there are solutions.
