Who can make my octatrack, digitone & syntakt portable ?
i search for someone you can build a battery pack that into my boxes in europe/switzerland ?
anyone ?
thanks for your help
If you type ‘internal battery’ into the search bar, you will find hundreds of posts over multiple threads that should help.
If you (yourself) are not a technical electronics person, and you are seeking a service where someone can help you in making the 3 portable because you are not comfortable to do the service yourself, it may be worth getting some basic information from the internal battery threads as @Claid has suggested (as well as to get an idea of the risk to having a battery which you cannot see and which may swell up or cause issues over time) and after you have gathered the necessary information, consult a local shop for computer repair, camera repair, or other general electronics technician services. If you provide them with the necessary information, and ask if they can do the custom work, the service should be more reliable and perhaps cost you less. Find out from them if they will give you any warranty on their work.
Many people (as you will see) have chosen to use external power bank type of rechargeable batteries, this will require no internal modification and is something you can do yourself if you buy the same items someone has already tried and recommended. You will also find that Syntakt is more power hungry than Digitone, and may have a different battery life and powering needs so take this into consideration when choosing if this is the right kind of modification for you.
I saw what you said about attaching to the table. It’s possible, but of course a little less than Ideal, I understand why you would want internal for live sets.
You would have to fabricate it out of metal or plastic, or have someone make it for you, but I had an idea for a very basic tray using the vesa mount holes on the bottom of digitone/syntakt to retain an external battery. It is possible that it could be adapted to use the rack mount ears on the side. This was discussed elsewhere but the idea was this (it’s very simple because I made it on the ms paint program):
You could make it wider for more stability, or attach some kind of legs. I never made this before so I can only share the idea.
I prefer an external USB-C PD battery pack and a BirdCord.
When the internal battery died on my iLoud, I gaffer-taped an RC car battery to the back of it and ran a wire through to the circuitry inside. It worked great, and was all wired up right, but after six months or so the battery started to swell.
I got rid of it asap. But if it had been inside, I wouldn’t have seen it. That’s why I prefer a battery pack.
