Intech Studio

Depends on what you are trying to control i guess. OT is pretty simple to add some quick level/mute control from an EF44 but there might be some simpler controllers out there for you.
To put it in perspective, I am a control systems programmer, I enjoy the technology aspect of “techno” and love figuring out solutions like this.
I would say it’s moderately difficult (but nothing a little GPT can’t help figure out). The hardest part was figuring out how to configure my midi configs/channels and paths on my different devices. I have a Blokas midihub that offers in depth routing/filtering and customization. It is the heart of my midi setup.

Sheesh. I hope their value measured up to balancing the scale.

I don’t mind the deep programming if it’s not mandatory, my main draw is the form factor but all I really need is to be able to midi learn a few controllers for quick mapping workflow in ableton. small as possible but not too small, I think intech controllers are the perfect size for mapping some sp-404 master fx workflow on the side of my little macbook air

Yeah, it would work perfect for a 404!

I have 2x EF44, 2x EN16, 1x PO16, and 1x BU16. No mechanical issues with them whatsoever.

Perfect Circuit is selling them.

Same here on the kickstarter. Got the VSN1. Overcharged on the extortion tax and still fighting with UPS to get a refund after a month. . They calculated the HTS code wrong.

Also to follow up on this. I set a PBF4 up for use with an Octatrack and with basically no real coding knowledge, ChatGPT and a bit of trial and error managed to set up some pretty cool stuff (e.g. DJM-style hi/lo-pass filter on a single knob, resetting a bunch of parameters with timers using a single button) using Lua. Took about a morning to work through and get things working how I wanted.

You absolutely do not have to do this if you just want to use MIDI learn in a DAW but it’s there if you want it, which makes them pretty extensible compared to a lot of other things on the market.

I foolishly traded mine for a Launchcontrol XL and will be going back, as it is so much better to travel with (at nearly a 1/4 the size!).

Sounds cool. Would like to give this a try.
Is it possible with these devices to jump between groups of settings with a command of some sort, or are you stuck with the 16-ish assignments until you connect up to a computer again?

There is a small button on the front that lets you flip through four pages.

So what’s quality like on these? I’m looking for a fader controller for Ableton and these seem ideal.

Mine work fine and are sturdy, and for me took me little to no time to get it mapped to the rytm mk2. I do wish it came in a silver or cream color though.

As an aside, more and more people are using fader controllers with elektron. Maybe elektron can take the hint to start incorporating faders on newer boxes so we don’t have to throw and extra few hundred for proper control
