Made a small beat tape, all samples from Christian Death Only Theater Of Pain, trying to develop a sound that is somehow still lofi but coming from my punk and industrial background

Track 3 is good mate . Definitely interesting project. You’re onto something. Not everyone was influenced by jazz or soul. I think in order for lofi to move on the samples need to change with time .

I do like the classic lofi samples but somehow they don’t really feel me, if I make that kind of lofi I feel like I’m sampling out of somebody else’s “pool” while I prefer to sample off my own musical past.

it is interesting, I’ve had a few people already telling me that track 3 is their favourite, I am now starting to see while, but I was initially against including it at all.

agreed - you´re onto something interesting here.
It has a bit of 90s vibe which i like.
Sample source selection makes an impact on the result for sure.
