Individual track outputs gain problems (newbie)

Hi Everyone,

I have been trying the individual track outputs, routed individually in my soundcard but I face a strange issue: Track 3 and 4 sounds a lot quieter on most patches which is very frustrating, any idea what it could be? Should I contact my retailer?

Thanks in advance !

Have you tried swapping the cables from tracks 1 and 2, also swap the port on your sound card. Might be bad cables or other port problems outside of the AK. Are the cables balanced or unbalanced?

Yo !

Have tried swapping track outputs and the sounds comes out fine when I switch with track 1 for example, the problem only occurs on some patches where I have a very very weak audio signal… Main outputs + Left and right works fine, that’s why I am not entirely sure if it is hardware or software related. will try a different output on my soundcard though when I come back from work today .

I am using a standard 1/4 quarter inch cable

What are your thoughts on this?

Look at it like this.

From the Analog Keys outputs to the sound card:

Track 1 > Input 1
Track 2 > Input 2
Track 3 > Input 3
Track 4 > Input 4

Only switching the cable end on the Keys side and not touching the sound card inputs, do this:

Track 3 > Input 1
Track 4 > Input 2
Track 1 > Input 3
Track 2 > Input 4

Are tracks 3 and 4 still low? If yes then the issue is with the Keys and not the cables or sound card.

If now tracks 1 and 2 are low, then swap around some of the cables to see if you have bad cables. Could be bad ports on the sound card or maybe just the volume for those ports is turned down.

Another option would be to take one cable and connect it to track 1 and input 1. Verify it still sounds good. Then move that cable between the sound card ports until something changes. If everything is still working fine, then try that same cable on tracks 3 and 4 and test with the known good cable the other ports on the sound card.
