Individual outs

I know this has been discussed as a shortfall in the design and I am not sure that no one else has suggested this but here goes. I was wondering if there was a way for elektron make an internal routing change in the A4 with an OS update. What I was thinking was that you could assign two voices to the already existing mains and assign the remaing two to the headphone outs. Then one could just adjust the panning to give each voice a channel. The volume of the phones out is linked to the mains levels anyways. Of course you would sacrifice everything being stereo but that may be worth it to some folks to have individual outs. I personally don’t need this but it has been on my mind lately and I wanted to know if it’s feasible either way.

Overbridge will solve this issue for a lot of use cases as it sends each track on its own audio channel to your DAW.

Of course if you don’t want a computer in your setup at all it doesn’t solve the problem.

not quite, it was obviously a choice, not an oversight as such, besides, the tap point for individual voices is on the board, search for an earlier thread where this is discussed and maybe there’ll be some who have gone further than discuss it

what you discussed is feasible fwiw

But everything ends up as a stereo track anyway. When we used to record audio at school we went to great lengths at applying compression to individually recorded tracks in order to “glue” them together as if they were all recorded with one mic, so to say. A4 is targeted for that analog sound and the machine already “glues” the separate tracks internally with analog amps and gives out 4 voices in stereo. It is as to say ready for consumption. Unless I am wrong somehow. I can see it being useful in MonoMachine where there are different synthesis engines but MonoMachine is capable of a bit more sonically.
