In time pattern changes not working

Hi

I’m working on a techno live set so I have a project with about 16 different patterns with 808 and 909 samples.

I want to be able to switch between the patterns with the sequencer running in time (so at the end of the pattern it changes to the next one I selected)

I’m sure this was the default behaviour but for some reason when I select the next pattern, the pattern icon on the screen just blinks between the two patterns but does not change. It only changes when I stop and restart the sequencer.

Have I possibly changed a setting somewhere to make this the new behaviour? I’ve read the manual but can’t see anything on how to change the pattern switching behaviour (only pattern chaining and song mode)

Can anyone help?

Pull up a different project and confirm whether the pattern change behavior is the same as what you’re describing here or if it goes back to the normal switch at the end of the pattern, that should give you a better idea of whether the problem is contained within the project or if its a more global issue.

What length are your patterns? 1 page (16 steps)? Just for reference are you working standalone or connected to the computer? Any midi controller or other gear in line before or after?

I’d also check CH.LEN if the pattern is set PER TRACK.

Ah yep that’s it. I’d set M.len to infinite without setting a ch.len. Just found that part of the manual that explains it too. All sorted!
