In case there are others(like me) that are actually pretty darn lousy when it comes to EQ

I found this in my search for how to get better acquainted with EQ.

Izotope has a Production Essentials “game” online where you evaluate different sounds and identify EQ effects on the audio file.

I’m finding it to be pretty helpful and difficult (see: lousy). I wanted to share it with the forum in case others are in my same boat

Yeah, I found myself accidentally playing a few rounds on my work computer…

My internet usage certainly pushes acceptable terms in company policy :japanese_ogre:

Nice @Ryan ! Even if the countdown is not definetely encouraging to take a more accurate listening.

I actually practice EQ skills with a software called Train Your Ears.
YOu can take a look at the following - link -

Since one month I am trying to promote it as being an affiliate.
It has a lot of different exercises (prepared by different professionals) and you can load your own music or reference signals (like pink noise).

It has a really good price (€49) and you can use the following 20% discount code if interested: tye-gianluigi

EDIT: looks like there is also a black friday coupon with 45% discount …WoW !!
I do not know how long it will stay on though

I went ahead and purchased this- I figure I could use a more guided refinement of my EQ comprehension abilities than what iZotope offers.

Thanks!

(I wish they’d make an iOS app, that would be conveinient af)

HearEQ looks to be the app for that(wish I had looked before buying the computer program, but whatever)

Just downloaded the app- will update with affirmative/negative after experimenting with

I see. Interesting using such a tool wherever.
But I still prefer to do this in my studio with monitors and controlled acoustics i.e. where I perform while producing/mixing
