All of the ideas and concepts in Elektron machines, are solutions to a problem.
So a great start to Elektron products, is some experience with less complicated, more simple, more limited products. A basic synth, a basic drum machine.

I’m just starting, got a DN in spring and only a few months later a OT MK1. As said before this forum is a wealth of knowledge and a great community willing to help and share. I’ll admit I’m not a reader so manuals are difficult for me to get through, attention span of a child. But between here, YT, google and referencing needed areas in manual I’ve learned a ton.
That’s the way I do now. Practice and search in manual. 
A way I have been using to learn to experiment and also pass time while practicing. I watch a movie on my laptop with the output of the laptop going through a thru machine and just practice sampling… changing effects, saving and editing… delay locks. I’m watching A Scanner Darkly. Next Ex-Machina.

You could try Charlie Chaplin films. I hear the piano sounds are most excellent.
