I tried to search previous threads so let me know if this already has a topic.
With all that empty surface area top right of the AK I was thinking: could Elektron create a small outboard unit (with rubber suckers!) with two additional voices? Literally just the circuit boards in a groovy little box.
I know, I know, how would it integrate with the tracks? Well, for me I’d just be happy if they just linked to Track 1 only (for example) and just added the extra polyphony on that I’d be happy. I am pretty comfortable working with four voices, but I do try and write entire tracks on the AK, so I could then just add a few more pads/textures to patterns.
I thought also about perhaps a Roland PG200 style box with additional knobs for control, but I really don’t think I’d use them now I am comfortable with the standard UI. Perhaps that’d still appeal to you.
Does this even conceptually make sense, could there be a better way of doing this? I was also just thinking about trying to keep the cost down and simplify the OS integration too.
Max £250 for simply adding the voices.
I know we have Overbridge… oh wait, I’m a Logic user, start again… I know some of us have Overbridge, but I prefer the sound of my AK when not going through a computer, so not sure if I would end up using screen based controls that much anyway.
How about a small outboard screen to give better visibility? A bit like a sat nav device (but with rubber suckers!) that you can plonk that empty space for those of us with withering eyesight? Oh, and it HAS TO BE tilt-able.
Max £100
That’s what I woke up with this morning, any legs in these ideas or any better ones out there?
Cheers.
