I wanna see some non-techno / 4x4 stuff from Octatrack/RYTM/A4 here

I guess maybe more disco in terms of tempo (over 100 under 140)? Glad you enjoy!

Free improvisation on viola and Octatrack, recorded late 2015:

I used 4 Tracks. From the description:

Track 1 - Thru Machine with Filter (unused - FX1 default) and Plate Reverb in FX2 slot. Reverb time set long so the FX in Track 2 swell after it.

Track 2 - Neighbor Machine (Track 1 as input) with LoFi in FX1, Delay in FX2. LoFi set to with BRR (Bit Rate Reduction) close to middle, ring mod section set up more like a tremolo effect.

Track 3 - Pickup Machine w/ Filter and Spring Reverb. Simple looper with LFO1 set to modulate pitch with Random waveform, LFO2 and LFO3 set to modulate filter width and Q respectively.

Track 4 - Flex Machine with Record Trigger, source set to Track 1 output, LoFi in FX1, Spring Reverb FX2. With the Record Trigger, this track is sampling Track 1 once every 16 steps of the sequencer. This track’s LoFi also has a moderate BRR setting, with the ring mod side set to sound more like ring mod.

Great stuff Monocon! Love the first one with the phat bass sounds, and the NIN cover

Couple of non-techno tunes made with OT, MD,A4, and Blofeld.

Couple of different measures going on, making the pattern pretty long.
Kick is at 7/8, bass 9/8, there are some elements in 11/8, and a single “tschk” in 4/4.
Like what id did to the vocal phrase, one being “dodji dodji dodji na more”, 9/8 and the other “dodji dodji dodji dodji na more”,11/8, making a mantric chant with their phasing.

The AK does really good natural sounds. This is a little example of some sounds with no external fx, and only using 4 sounds. Recorded into live on 1 track.

Thank you! Changes all the time  In these videos: Ableton operator, kontakt libraries, Nord Rack2, A4, U-he diva and my guitar. drums were mostly samples on the OT. Today it’s mainly A4 and my recently purchased little modular

“Electro beats” in my tune Eclectic

Some kind of vocal electronica? =)

Rocking that guitar on the Rytm

I love doing trip-hop on the OT. Programming laidback beats with microtiming, then sample other instruments and loop it, etc. Example:

The Octatrack do a lot of heavy lifting here. I played the piano and a bass on my Eigenharp and sampled them to the OT. Some record trigs sampled the vocals and messed with them for a bit of texture. My wife did most of the synth stuff on her Electribe MX.
