I have been an idiot and ruined a perfectly working Digitakt. The volume knob was a little loose so I opened it up and super glued it in place, now the sound is all crackly. I bought it used so there is no warranty, Im sure I voided it now anyway. I tried some super glue remover but this has not worked, the damage is done.
Does anyone know how I could fix this? Could I buy a replacement potentiometer and replace it? Does it have to be a specific type?
yes. contact support. likely best option is sending it in for repair, but you’ll then be without it for a month or so. possible they could sell you a new potentiometer to install yourself. though I’m guessing that with your approach thus-far to repairing the instrument, removal and replacement of the pot is probably beyond your skill set… but perhaps you know a friend who could do it for you?
…duck tape holds the world together…not super glue…
but in this case i’m pretty sure it was not the superglue that did the damage to the potentio…
it was the pressure when u turned it back on the socket…
and jup…send it in…they will fix it for a reasonable price…
Just wanted to post a follow up to this, i sent it off to Elektron for repair and they ended up fixing it for free under warranty, didn’t even charge me for return postage and had it returned in about a week. Legends.
