I love my AK!

Just received mine about 30 minutes ago … let me say .WOW… I already tracked it within 10 minutes of opening the box. My 8 months of Octatrack ownership really gave me a jump start as to how to navigate this 37 key beast. Easily the best synth I’ve ever owned.

Within 10 minutes of fiddling with some knobs I found a great sound for this song that I’ve been working on and off all week. Finally found the bit that it sorely needed.

Thanks Elektron! Feeling inspired.

The fragile and unstable sounds it makes are amazing. Not to mention the gritty bass and very decent percussion sounds for a music synth.

Yeah, the shaky, sort of nervous type of sounds are some of the things I have had trouble doing with my other synths…‘fragile’ is definitely a good word for those. I haven’t made many of my own patches yet but there are some AMAZING quirky unstable ones that fit the bill from the factory.

I was mostly playing mine through my headphones, and tonight I started tracking and listening on my monitors…I was totally blown away by how good the bass (and everything, for that matter) sounds!

Ditto, it’s an awesome mix of instrument meets sequencer, also it’s new to me so I’m a little confused by it, but I can already see clearly it’s a powerful tool to piece together the main skeleton of a track and sound good doing it!

To me it´s also the best synth I´ve owned so far to start a song and let it evolve. I owned many synths, but Ak is the only one I can do a sketch of a whole song on.

Loving mine as well, sadly haven’t had time to fully integrate it musically into my rig (summer goals). However, (and I’m surprised I haven’t read this yet) what an amazing midi controller it is especially with the Digitakt. No BS.

Me too well I have the keyboard-less version the A4 which rocks. It plays well with my Octatrack and modular gear.

I’ve stated my unabashed affection for the AK many, many times. It’s one of my favorite synths (that’s saying a lot given the many classic synths in my studio) and its CV abilities make it the center of my rig whether I’m working with or without my DAW. I tell anyone who will listen what a bargain it is. It’s built like a tank (but get Underbridge!) and a joy to jam on. And the internal synth engine holds its own with the legendary synths I pair it up with. I love it so much that I’m thinking of picking up a spare.

They’re so insanely cheap on the secondhand market in Australia these days. I’d be tempted to get one if I had the space…

I have the MK2 and consider adding a s/h MK1 for drum duties…

Yes, its that good and versatile.

I thought about that but I like the MFB Tanzmaus or Tanzbar more.

They are nice but A4 is still more versatile and has the better Sequencer.

Btw…: MFB Tanzbar Free Sample Pack for Digitakt

id love to hear more about how you use these two together

The AK connects to the DT midi-in. I use the MIDI Ext on the AK and then choose the target track for the midi-out. Note: If the MIDI tracks A-H are changed to 9-16 in the MIDI Config (on the DT), all tracks on the DT (1-16) can be selected by the AK with just a flick of a knob.

So is the analog heat ! :stuck_out_tongue:

I know that…But the the heat did not really earn its “legacy” status…More “fastest dropped ever product”…

No more software updates for AK?

I just put à Smiley in my post so we don’t go this route one more time…

Hahaha…now I see that I only have official legacy products in my studio :). And I couldn’t love them more!
