yeah i like to think of the octatrack as similar to using turntables, not like making scratching sounds - you could lol but just like how it rewards practice and they’re both simple in theory, or if you see someone good use them
but all the little things you can do take time to figure out.
setting up the octatrack to use to me feels like working on different techniques and skills that you then go put into effect. you try something out, figure out something else, switch it up as you go.
there are things i think they could streamline, sure, but if the octatrack held your hand more or was “easier” it wouldn’t be as fun for me.
dunno i was into it the 1st day i got it, but i think if i had used any of the other elektron boxes 1st instead of after it might’ve been more difficult because the interface ideas are similar, and the octatrack made them pretty easy, but the way i go about doing things is completely different on the octatrack.
