I love SRR but find it works best on harmonically pure sounds. On the Machinedrum I use SRR on the sine wave machines all the time to achieve something similar to additive synthesis. In my modular I’ll often use SRR to dirty up a triangle wave before sending it to a filter. I also like it on 808/909 toms, rimshots etc. which are all pretty pure harmonically.
