I feel dumb: Question about scenes

I feel like either my brain has totally forgotten this, or I am imagining that I was able to do it when I had the OT before.

I have a pattern with 4 slices across 4 pages on trig 1. I want pages 1 and 3 to always trigger, and pages 2 and 4 to be fills. I don’t want to necessarily use FILL as I have other ideas with the slices. However, I can’t figure out how to do it! Do I need to use two different track? I’d swear that I could set slider locks to specific trigs, but when I hold down B to try and assign stuff, it just opens up the scene chooser.

Am I just imagining a better world where I could assign scenes to specific trigs instead of whole tracks?

I’d put a trig on each page
Trig 1, slice 1
Trig 17, slice 2
Trig 33, slice 3
Trig 49, slice 4

One shot or FILL on trigs 17/49
Set LEN to 2 (LEN in Slice mode in SETUP)

Scenes override plocks. Make settings for your plocks, then force a more neutral setting with scene A settings, scene B being neutral.
That way you have a neutral setting with scene A, morphing to the plocks values with scene B.

This right here was what I was looking for. I knew I wasn’t crazy. I forgot that scenes override p-locks.

Hey man, you wanna come over, play with my dogs, and answer all my Octatrack questions for a the day? I’ll buy pizza and booze, too.

US? I’d need a pass I’m afraid ! :bed:

At first I read “I’ll need to pass, I’m afraid!”, which would be totally understandable. Hahaha. Damn. I really need someone to come over here and help me with this damn setup and stuff.

If you ever make it out this way, let me know, the dog petting and food still stands.

I’m maybe not as knowledgeable but I can “google” all your problems for booze and some playtime with your dog (over facetime?)
