Overbridge better come out soon or I am going to declare my rtym a complete waste of money over bridge better fix my sample problem… how the fuck am i going to make sick music if the samples dont even play back correctly… WTF… not to mention loading them… who cares if they load if they wont play back right
I’m really upset that the 24k gold plate with diamond sprinkles is peeling off my toilet bowl after only 1000 flushes…
Sorry. Couldn’t resist.
give me your rytm i need a second one!!! it s the best machine i haver ever own
Whats wrong with sample playback on the Rytm?
It’s not the OT and is supposed to be for one shot playback (mostly). Works fine for me.
everyone cant deny there are loads of ARs for sale on the used market and it now looks like the AR is dividing opinion a lot like the OT
mines gone…thank… freaking god
MDUW+ back in my hands and everything is fine and dandy again

Why did you let yours go Orwell? I thought a lot of the science lab AR entries smoked the OT and MD entries in terms of colour, I know that’s very subjective but my wee ears perked up a little when the playlist hit an AR track…
Didn’t know there where loads of them on the used market,
Maybe I could bag a bargain, hmmm
What’s wrong with the sample playback, oblivionjrool? And what would Overbridge do to change any situation regarding that? Overbridge brings VST/AU control, bi-directional USB audio streaming and Total recall.
trades offs I guess - good question
i had a massive AR sugar rush at first and thought I could do everything my old silver boxes could do - seriously loved the sound of the AR thing, sp1200 meets 808
Then i hit a wall, with bugs and being locked into the AR ‘track’ philosophy was literally driving me bonkers
voices are set in stone sort of - its just an awkward device overall - with pads not responding, filter a bit weird, no sampling, input is fucked. Sample management just got me one day and i smashed my fist against the desk and i thought fuck it, i had more fun with my mduw and monomachine combo (which i kinda sold off to get the AR, which is $2K here and AK which is also 2k)
when the AR is sorted os wise it will be fine but still limited cause its analog and crippled by elektron
good news is i sold my mduw mk1 and mm mk2 for a good price $1900- and repurchased an mduw mk2 plus drive and monomachine mk2 both for $2000, kinda upgraded for not that much more on the second hand market
Sold the Rytm, bought an octatrack and a TR8, couldn’t be happier. Well I could…GAS!
Samples play back fine. I’m guessing you just don’t know how to use the ASDR.
Just a wild ass guess, but…user error?
the biggest problem with Elektron boxes becoming more mainstream (mostly with RYTM) is that you get idiots like the person that started this thread. Unless it’s a joke?
if it’s too complicated for your small brain sell it & use your iPad to create music. end of story.
Morons.
I saw the same thing happen with Apple… now you have all these kids buying their parents and their parents’ parents iPhones & iPads thinking it would be cool if they had them… some people should just not own technology simply because it’s not for them.
Point in case: OP.
OP,
Elektron intentionally limits its gear because it strongly believes in the credo that limitation yields creativity. That’s a major philosophical point behind Elektron gear. Very open-ended in some ways but very closed off in other ways… kind of like Apple.
Use an MPC or something else if your brain is too small for a RYTM…
BTW, Overbridge is a BONUS feature at best. it wasn’t announced at the inception of RYTM… kind of just extra dessert. So, quiet down about Overbridge taking longer than normal… this is a very small company. no one forced you to buy the RYTM, you sound so unFingGrateful
aye aye aye
Relax?
I think the two of you missed my point completely.
I use Strom & it’s great.
This has nothing to do with Strom.
You know the minute you get rid of your Rytm is the moment Elektron will release Overbridge, and some mind blowing huge update. They’re known to do that type of stuff, and really, they never disappoint.
The funny thing is that the OP is so upset over how samples playback (or don’t apparently) in what is first and foremost an ANALOGUE DRUM MACHINE. As if that whole concept is secondary to it playing samples. It’s like saying that you’re going to get rid of your oven because the little timer clock sucks!
Though I agree that infinite possibilities can hamper productivity, I really don’t buy “we put a bunch of limitations in this gear on purpose, to force you to be more creative”…
" I paid MONEY for this guitar and it is not strumming the way I want it to, it’s garbage I shouldn’t have to learn anything for an instrument."
