HW Sampler for multisample instruments

All the above suggestions + TE “Swiss Army Knife” OP-1

Not sure about how many polyphonic samples it handles, though. Is there actually a limit?

Hi, just wanted to warn about Blackbox 1010. I tried to use auto-sampler on it (to grab MC-101 before selling) and this did not work well for me.
There is some sort of limit of samples per project (100?), so I needed to limit the number of intervals to sample and reduce the velocity layers. So it works in some way, but feels half-baked and buggy.
Maybe would work if you need to sample your analog lead in 1 note per octave, but for more detailed instuments it would not be great (sound-per-note + 4 velocity layers). And you will need more than 1 instrument in project - even worse.
That’s why I started looking towards MPC
This was on OS before 1.9 and 2.0 though.

If you’re on a budget the ESI series is good, I have the 2000. Spend the extra bit and get the SCSI2SD v6. Very important to place the unit in an ergonomic way since you’ll be spending a lot of time in menus. Trimming samples kinda sucks, but you can snap to zero-crossings. EPXPN can convert common instrument formats.
