Just recently stumbled across this one, perhaps of interest for anyone here…

I have one, it’s pretty cool.
Downside is it’s based on a piece of gear from a manufacturer not necessarily known for ruggedness and reliability (FCB1010 excepted). I’ve had a few weird experiences that I think come down to the encoders sending spurious values, but 99% percent of the time it works great.
It’s still on the first version, and the developer seems pretty into incorporating improvements and suggestions of possible, but it’s very full featured and well thought out as it is. Hoping he can incorporate some way to dump and restore the patterns via sysex, because now that I have the BCR, I’d like to use it as an editor for the DSI Tetra as well…

BCR2000 is a tank (well maybe not, but still one of their top products IMO)…not sure why they get slammed so much…I guess it’s the thing to do

I sure wouldn’t describe it as a tank- it’s plastic, the knobs are a bit wiggly…

But for $150 bucks, they are a hell of a deal. People do like to trash Behringer, and I’m sorry my post followed that trend. I think they they make some good gear for great prices.

And the FCB1010 IS built like a tank!

Quality of Behringer is often debated online, sometimes there are no problem for some people and other times nothing but problems for other people. Sometimes only regarding certain models, other times overall on various models. I guess keeping a low price would yield bigger swings in the variances. Which why you´d see so much of both in discussions online.

Regardless of which. I think it´s great that Zaqaudio actually got thru and had the gut and the persistence to go all way. It certainly won´t make the unit less useful if you already got one anyway. And actually are able to install an firmware that improves/changes the function of the unit radically. Same with the guy doing the UnO chip for the FCB1010 (http://www.ossandust.be/index.php)

Although buying one just for installing 3:d part firmware, I don´t know. I´d consider it to be a bit similar to any DIY project. Sort of ‘you´re out on your own’. I guess it might be a bit of hassle if you are getting troubles with the unit.

Made my morning. Need a midi seq and have a bcr sat going mouldy. Yes!! Thanks for sharing. And have a great weekend. x

That was the exact intention of starting the thread. Happy it helps someone/sometime. Share some links of the musical results when you´ve got it into your workflow!
