How to sync boss looper with digitakt?

Hi,

Anyone know if this is possible?

Want to sync my rc-50 looper with the tempo of my patterns on my digitakt. Can’t seem to find any info on how this could be done. I am a new to the complicated world of midi.

Any help would be much appreciate.

Thanks in advance.

I’d start with a midi cable from the DT out into the RC in.

Don’t know the Looper so that’s about as much as I have for you!

…the rc does not speak midi, i’m afraid…and does not stretch audio…so no chance to sync any other way than tap it tight…

Thanks everyone.
Not the outcome I was hoping for but we play with the gear we are delt.

What do you mean? You got the perfect answer, all you need is a midi cable and enable midi out on DT and receive on Looper
Set Looper to receive on default channel 11? (Don’t know) And send clock out.
All in sync. In the manual it’s possible to select either as master/slave.

Oh, I must have missed that in the discussion.
Thanks

Seems that ‘reeloy’ thinks differently?

Maybe he put you off!?

Another case of RTFM, clearly states midi is well implemented.

Chapter 8, USING MIDI…may have something to do with it…

• The RC-50 can receive MIDI clock from external MIDI devices
and perform at the same tempo as (be synchronized with) the
external MIDI device. This enables control of the RC-50 using
the same tempo as that of recorders and other equipment.
• Playback of the current phrase and control of All Stop can be
achieved through receipt of MIDI Start and Stop messages.
If Simul-Start (p. 50) is set, you can also start playback of any
desired phrase from an external MIDI device.

guessing reeloy mistook the model of RC loopstation. there are a couple that lack midi entirely.

Looks like a useful combo.

I sold my rc50 and my boss slicer because the midi sync would drift over time. They would start fine, but over a few loops start to lag and only a restart would get them back in sync.

Drove me nuts!

They also have a lo fidelity sound that imprints a strong character on everything you sample…its ok at first but after a while it got on my nerves.

Yeah, even when it’s synced the rc-50 starts to drift off into different directions. I’m glad in a way that it’s not just me who noticed this. Aiund quility as you mentioned is not top.

So you sold yours? Any idea if the rc-300 or the 500 is any better at not driffting off sync ?

Thanks
G.
