Yes the “sounds” and the “kits” are related, but one “kit” does not store a sound separately.

You cannot load a specific “sound” from a “kit”.

So if you want to save a specific “sound” you can do as smokyfrog told you, that’s the shortcut.

Or you can do “Fonction”+“D” (“SOUND” in the mini keyboard), then go to the “Sound Manager”, select a free slot (the trigs of the sequencer act as banks at this point), use the right arrow and select “Save track sound”, give it a name and your sound is stored inside your A4.
Now you’ll be able to load it from wherever you want.
