How to save a sound to a preset?

I feel like I must be going mad. I’ve created a sound on my A4, I’ve saved it in a kit. I can’t find it in the +drive or the sound pool and I want to use the same sound on another track.

How do I save the sound as a preset?

You need to save it into one of the zillions of locations on the +drive. Use Yes/Save and the the 'D’Sound key on the mini keyboard. It’ll show you the next free location ready to save your sound.

just reload the kit and save it from there as described, you can also save it to the pool for soundlocking, the kit sound and sound from pool/+D are unlinked

Yes the “sounds” and the “kits” are related, but one “kit” does not store a sound separately.

You cannot load a specific “sound” from a “kit”.

So if you want to save a specific “sound” you can do as smokyfrog told you, that’s the shortcut.

Or you can do “Fonction”+“D” (“SOUND” in the mini keyboard), then go to the “Sound Manager”, select a free slot (the trigs of the sequencer act as banks at this point), use the right arrow and select “Save track sound”, give it a name and your sound is stored inside your A4.
Now you’ll be able to load it from wherever you want.

I hope it’s clear.

Cheers!
