How to replace knobs?

Hi,

I got the replacement knobs for the MD.

How do I replace them ? Do I just pull the old ones up with brute force or do I break something then ?

You need to be careful! The encoder shafts are plastic. The knobs are friction fit; so, a snug pull…careful.

There was a thread on the EU forum with pics of … broken shafts from trying to remove the knobs. But, also many reports of success.

I haven’t tried to remove the knobs on my MD.

There’s 2 schools of thought. One is to lever one side up. I belong to the other which says NO that snaps the shaft! Just grab the knob and pull it up vertically. I have done this several times and it has had no affect on the controls or their feel.
