Yeah that totally happened to me the other day so I know your pain exactly 
hey. i had the same MONO issue today…
all as mentioned except
you must press rec button (middle one) and put trigger on thru track, then left or right mono signal goes to both speakers or headphones!
so in my case:
volca bass IN A
T1 to thru in track mixer i have main +63, dir 0, gain +50 (on your taste)
press mix button and select in INAB selelct A
now volca sounds in left headphone only, but as soon as i press MAIN REC button and activate TRIGGER 1 on T1, sound goes into both headphones.
