How to import a single kit into the a4 to a specific location?

can anybody give me a hint?

that would be awesome!

ok… already found it in the manual… i guess i looked in the wrong place…

hmm… this is weird… here’s what i did:

i hooked up my computer to my a4 via usb and set the a4 to receive the kit on slot 56… “waiting data”

then i start up my c6 app and go to the config page, selecting the a4 in both input and output. i load the .syx file into the c6 app and click on send. it sends it and says “done” in the progress bar on the bottom. my a4 is still “waiting data” tho and nothing has been written into the kit.

did i do something wrong?

i just tried another kit and that worked… could it be that the kit is broken somehow? i am tryin’ to load the c64 kit by mr. baldwin

could it be that the file doesnt contain kit data but sound data?

hi. as far as i know, it loads the kit and then auto moves to the next slot ready for another kit to be sent. that is why it still says “waiting data”. if you exit sysex at this point your kit should be in the load menu or in the pattern slot you assigned it to. you can have multiple, sounds or patterns lined up in c6 and send them in succession. or you can select them all at once and send also

I’ve tried this and it is not a Kit.

it’s a collection of Sounds.

So, go in the Sound syx Receive, find a slot that have free slots after it and send the Syx.
You will get some sounds in the list, dont remember actually how many…

hey - if you read the blog it says sounds, but more helpfully, if you drop the sysex in C^ it will show you in the bottom left corner what is contained within the sysex - it says 10 sounds for this file ! The device also receives sysex from any menu position, it needn’t be waiting, but i think the sounds will be placed where they were originally saved as each sound contains a reference to the slot it was in !
