Is there a way to copy the contents of record buffer 1 on track 1 to record buffer 2 on track 2?
do you need to copy it? you could just let track 2 also play record buffer 1.
I need to copy. Both tracks are independent overdubbing loopers and I’d like a quick way to copy one to the other as a backup.
Double click a Flex track button : You can copy a recording slot and paste it to another one.
and switch to the backup when something goes wrong, kind of like an undo?
It’s also possible to reload a saved sample (assigned to self) in the recording buffer,
AED>FILE>REVERT TO SAVED FILE
Hi - Thanks for the help
“and switch to the backup when something goes wrong, kind of like an undo?”
yes sort of - basically I’m using 2 overdub loopers and fading between them. Once I get a loop to a nice basic state - I record it over to the other one.
I should also mention that this is for a performance.
Then, I can continue on one can can fade over to the earlier state - a bit like undo but more controlled.
Then I can add to the new one and at some point I take one in a very different direction and then I want to duplicate it again.
But recording it is much slower than duplicating it.
I tried the double-click flex track and tried copy/paste but it seems to copy/paste the underlying saved-audio rather than the current buffer. But I might be doing it wrong?
If I try to save the file - I get a audio pause which is not good for performance. Plus saving + naming + copying is becoming quite a few steps.
Cheers
I think you’re right.
Another possibility : copy audio in first buffer AED. Quick whole selection : press TRIM before going to EDIT.
Paste audio in the other buffer. But the buffer has to be same length or longer than original copy.
Btw pasting in an empty buffer caused a bug : PASTE AUDIO message in any mode while pressing Stop. If anyone can confirm before I report it…
In AED edit menu there is also a “Paste mode” options (erase or mix, 0 or -3db)
So yeah I’m not an OT veteran but from what I learned in the manual I would use the audio editor track 1, select all by switching from TRIM to EDIT, FUNC+REC to copy, go audio editor track 2 set on buffer2, choose your paste mode and FUNC+STOP to paste audio.
Hi - That seems to work!
However… it has a side-effect that after pasting, I can’t close the AED window and it seems like the FUNCTION is still pressed because everything else I touch is behaving like secondary mode. Does this happen to you? Do I need to do something else after pasting?
After it a few other presses of other buttons it seems to go away but oddlly the Stop button still seems confused and is randomly acting as stop and undo paste.
Just checked and I’m on 1.30D - maybe I should update the firmware? Any reason not to go to the latest?
Thanks
Hm upgraded to 1.40 and it still behaves weirdly. After pasting the audio it’s like the FUNC button is stuck. Pretty a track key mutes it, Play clears the pattern, Stop undoes the paste.
It feels like a bug.
Yeah…
Not buggy with the EDIT > PASTE SELECTION function.
Ah sorry - I didn’t read your comment fully. I found the Paste Selection and yes that does work.
I’m going to give it a go and see if I can use it in my workflow
Cool thanks for your help!
