Hi everyone. I plugged my analog keys midi out to the therapsid midi in. I press the midi ext. button and there is no notes being played on the therapsid. The therapsid is midi channel 1. What else am I missing?
Have you got the midi outs configured properly? In the midi config page of the global options (func+song -> scroll down and there is midi config options, may be set to usb only or something)
I donāt know if itās obvious but you canāt sequence external midi, but you should be able to play the keys āon themā.
I know the AK canāt sequence midi. What I want to do is just use it as a controller for my desktop synths.
Iāll check this out when I get home today. Thanks. Yea my xstation 25 can control the therapsid fine, but not midi notes are being triggered with the AK.
I have a similar question so Iāll post it in here too.
Iām controlling a Streichfett (a bit underwhelmed by it, TBH) through the MIDI Out and running it back in through the two external inputs so I can use the AK effects and save on mixer space.
The trouble is, the Streichfett is playing whether Iām using the MIDI Ext switch or not. If the switch is enabled, I just get the Streichfett. If itās not, I get the Streichfett AND whatever track Iāve currently selected on the AK, when I just want the AK track.
I havenāt set any track oscillator waveforms to L or R, and Iām using the volume in the FX OSC 1 to control the input volume. Iām using the stereo outputs on the AK, not the individual ones, if that matters.
What am I doing wrong?
@unfunfionn
press func+song
-> midi config
-> midi port config
-> keyboard dst
set this to āintā
Should fix it
oh and of course same goes for encoders etc
Excellent, that did the trick. It seems strange that itās not the default setting, but oh well. Thanks!
No worries Yeah struck me as odd too

Make sure that the MIDI out port is set to USB + MIDI in the MIDI config options. Also, there is a setting to choose the MIDI channel, which I believe is channel 9 by default (weird, eh!). That second one stumped me when I was trying to use my AK to play an iPad app that didnāt listen to all the channels at once! But once I changed the AK to broadcast on channel 1, everything was fine.
