I didn’t know this before, but many many retailers track your return history, and many who do this use a third party company to do so, much like third party credit reporting gets done.
Here is a CNBC video about this issue.
I have no idea if any of the retailers we here in this forum may shop do this sort of tracking, or uses a third party tracker, but it seems very likely that some do.
Has anyone here been told their return is being denied ? Did they refer you to a third party rating service ?
From the video, one of the relevant questions is whether you as an individual is profitable. Interesting perspective, whether any individual is acting in ways that needs be subsidized by others. I also think of those ( in the US ) who are involved in sales tax cheating, as being subsidized by those who pay.
The video also points out the issue of being denied legitimate returns and how to fight that sort of denial.
Is there an equivalent term to ‘wardrobing’ that could apply to electronic music gear ? Sampling ?
