How has (not) doing drugs

I ate a bigger dose of shrooms some 10+ years ago. It certainly changed the way I view the world, nature, humanity in a permanent, and good way.
It’s not necessarily good for everyone. But I honestly think alcohol is simply put, much more dangerous than some of the illegal drugs.

I drink posh coffee and eat chia seeds.

I also buy quite a bit of expensive electronic music making equipment.

The sense of lack is a many headed beast.
But I’m on to it.

if drug must be taste at a moment of the life it must be when all is good in your life!
but a life can be live without!
i think drugs i took years ago are best and worst remember of my life…
but life is better now that i only use coffee and tobacco!
and a small joint when i sometime go in a week end in amsterdam! they are better when only come each 2 years!

During my youth (beginn of 90s) i tripped the hell out of me…

I have two perspectives on this time

1.) I started to work after my regular job in a record-store and worke behind two decks 1210mkII … i drifted to new spaces … so no DJing… i lost this opportunity … and had quite a lot of troubles reintegrating me into society again… but i did it… very succsessfully

2.) I saw, heared & felt things that the majority of people will never ever experience… i would miss that… since this time i tried to recreate the effect i’ve experienced with strange sounds out of my synths, meditation, sports… sometimes with unexpected outcomes

But as allready quoted… as i got older the more i’d like to have a clear mind…

In fact … i don’t smoke anymore… no alcohol… actually a very brave guy

your post remember me that music saved me from drugs! i bought my first machine the day i decides to stop this bad life! and music became my drug! delay phasersvand reverb make me feel like an acid trip!!

The only drugs I’ve ever taken have been alcohol and marijuana - and that’s just once, courtesy of a friend who make weed cookies for a birthday party.

Doesn’t seem to have made any difference in my creative life. More of a difference in social life (making friends while drinking).

I have quite a story to tell in this regard. I started drugs when i was very young and i was heavily addicted more than 10 years. It took me another 3 years to fight against my heroin addiction but i made it.
I am clean now since 3.5 years after a long therapy.
I have work, house and girlfriend and couldnt be more happy.
I have got to a point in my live where i can accept my past and i dotnt want to miss one thing of it because i dont want my present to be changed…

Actually music can influence the mind very well

for a trippy sound i use the temposynced delay with ping pong… medium feedback and short time, reverb as well

I think certain goa-styles catch this feeling

but also ‘roomy’ ambient

You name it, I’ve tried it at least once (excluding PCP and crack cocaine). Was deep enough into it that I was doing another kind of synthesis before I got more interested in doing it sonically. Psychedelics were/are my thing, but it’s been a couple of years since I’ve done anything besides occasionally dip into the space dust in my freezer.

I regard my use as a generally positive thing. I went through a really bad breakup a few years ago, and while I’d always dabbled, I got more serious in my use as a tool for therapy, and it really helped me in those years to gain perspective and self realization. Eventually, I got the message and hung up the phone, but I’m not against another journey into hyperspace.

Unlike fungi, it is very impersonal for the user…more like the universe is exposing itself to you and has no time to be concerned with your land ape issues. It’s something that I’ve found to be more meaningful through repeated experiences, as you can start to understand the landscape and appreciate the scenery.
Taking 100mg from the head of a nail was especially meaningful…I very much had a death/rebirth experience, but I wouldn’t recommend that type of dose for any but the most experienced psychonaut.

Yes definitely!
I have learned to really enjoy my life. And so many problems arent that big any more because i know myself pretty well now.

I was a functioning alcoholic from the age of about 15-16 to 30, been dry two years in two months. I occasionally use (read: use, not abuse) MDMA and tbh makes me a damn site nicer person than if I dont - I take a relatively large dose, once every two months or so. I dont go raving on it but use it for having deep and meaningfuls with my girlfriend - the psychotherapeutic qualities are incredible when used correctly, the biggest crime of the mass market abuse of mandy is that people who could really do with an mdma counselling session dont get it (legally at least).
