How do you multisample ? (on a computer)

Decent sampler plug-in is free, you might want to look into this.
Unfortunately I don’t think it reads SFZ format which seems to be the standard for several plug-ins.

TV reads SFZ, not sure it does for decent format.

What’s great about the MPC’s auto-sampling (even in the free Beats version) is that it adds the correct root note info to the file name and WAV header, so it’s easy to build multisamples in samplers like Deluge or Ableton that can read that data.

Yes, the 1010music samplers do this, too, as does Endless WAV. Adding those WAV metadata is important if you need to keep your sample collection portable. And it is not always clear which metadata are supported or not.

The other important feature is to derive part of those metadata by filename. Here again Endless WAV helps a lot.

So all in all, as easy as the recording process can be these days, the editing process can be a little rabbit hole, even when you purchase third party sample packs (depending on the software they used to generate the samples).

I used to do audio work for telephony systems, which are sort of like exotic samplers using exotic sample formats, such as 8kHz ADPCM and u-law etc. At the times, “the tools of the trade” for the job were:

  • ProTools (for actually recording, editing and trimming the samples)
  • Audio batch processing tools (for applying pre-emphasis EQ / compression to the files)
  • Samplerate and format batch converter (for creating the desired end format from the ProTools created and batch processed files)
  • Microsoft Excel (for keeping track of all the files, their names and their “contents”)
  • Batch file renaming app (for renaming the final files from a sequential number name to the final intended system file names in the excel file, based on the specs of various telephony companies)

I could imagine some or all of these tools would be handy for creating multisamples as well…

This was fine , quite quick to get working .
It makes a new track with a clip for each sample, it’s named with the relevant note

Just add to a track with the synth on the same track , setup notes and interval , click the button

Hi all, I’m considering some of the above tools for my own multisampling workflow. SampleRobot looks good so far, and will suit my nanobox tangerine, however I don’t think it can spit out a single wav file with all the samples in order (for my m8)

I can do this with a seperate app but I don’t suppose anybody knows a single software that can both record the multisamples and also create such a single file?
