How do you get samples on CF card?

Hi guys i need yours help! i don’t know how to put samples into CF card so i want buy an CF card reader and put samples through my Mac thru usb, and i dont know why i cant put samples with Sysex with only usb cable and without midi interface. Thanks

Read the manual. But, basically, the Octatrack is a CF card reader. Plug it into your computer via USB and you can upload all the samples you want.

From the manual:

Open the PROJECT menu, select SYSTEM and then USB DISK MODE. Press [YES] to make the Compact Flash card appear as a mass storage device in the computer.

It’s the easiest possible way. No CF card swapping, no sysex-ing, nothing. Use it just like any other external drive and copy & paste stuff around.

But note, that you need to drop the samples (or complete directories with samples) in a specific location:

(Again from the manual)

Using the computer, locate the set folder whose audio pool you want to add audio content to. Inside the set folder a folder called AUDIO is located. This is the audio pool of the set. All audio material in this folder will be accessible by the projects of the set.

To add content to the audio pool of the set, simply drag and drop audio files or folders containing audio files to the AUDIO folder. When done the Octatrack MKII should be unmounted from the computer
