I am curious if there is some way to easily record or save samples that are exactly X bars in length at whatever BPM. Is there some sort of disarm record trig I can input on the recording channels?
Usually I will just record a loop and stop it right after it’s looped once and try to crop it with the built sample editor but this gets old after a dozen or so samples… very time consuming and tedious. I’m just hoping there’s something I’m missing.
RLEN will only let you record up to 64 steps at a time.
Another way of doing this is using a PICKUP machine in ONE2 mode, with QREC and QPL set to (16). This lets you have a quantized start and stop for as many bars as you have RAM.
It helps to use dynamic rec buffers, you can easily record very very long, exact-length passages of audio. Save-and-assign to a static slot and wipe the recording buffer to reclaim RAM.
Can also be done with a one-shot record trig, or manual flex sample (pressing track+record), same settings: dynamic recorders, one2mode, qrec 16 (for bar quantization)…
If you know ahead of time how many bars you can set qrec to that, for example setting it to 128 will give you an 8 bar recording as long as you entered the stop command during those first 8 bars…
Note that for pickups qrec settings apply to going into overdub, qpl settings apply to going into playback…
The fastest way is to make all the above settings and turn on record quick mode in personalize settings…
Then as long as you have the track with the recorder selected, you just press the appropriate input button and sampling starts according to your qrec, press one more time to stop sampling according to qrec…
