I like a bit of Dave Angel, this is a personal fave of his:
I nearly posted that one instead!
Indeed, this one is a classic! RIP Ashley Beedle, what a legend.
Edit: LOL, so I’ve been quite rightly corrected on Ashley Beedle NOT being dead… Its really going to bug me now who it actually was I was thinking about. Will get back to you on that
Okay, so this was one of my first vinyls, still have it (released 1996).
Derrick Carter was one of the artists that got me into this as a teenager.
Edit: wrong mix, this is the one I liked back in the 90’s
The Innocent - Jack Another Day original mix from the Blue Cucaracha EP is still one of my fave Derrick Carter tracks, unfortunately it’s so underground it’s not been uploaded to youtube
I remember hearing it and it took me probably a year before I found a copy. I would dig the record stores in Chicago everytime I was there.
Here’s my vinyl I just pulled out.
I unfortunately never replaced my turntable. I really need to get another one soon.
The nostalgia is strong here lately!
I’ve been enjoying these mixes Basic Rhythm made for the past few years. They’re in chronological order 1990-93 and contain pretty much every hardcore tune I can remember from that time and then some.
Alrighty, one of my TOP 10 Deep House tracks of all time… If you were to ask me to pick one track that epitomises 90s Deep House, it would be this one. From one of the best to ever do it, on a classic label, timeless.
Some of my favorite deep house/garage records from earlier 90’s.
This first one is special because Theo Parrish asked me what it was which didn’t happen that often…
I remember being really high the first time I heard this and bugging out when the “I feel pretty good” sample came in…
Travis Nelson made some great tunes and feel like not enough people know about him…
I love this one because there’s absolutely nothing agitating about this tune…
So deep and dubby…
This was on a Theo Parrish mix tape I had and didn’t know what it was…couldn’t believe it when I found this record in Chicago…
One of my favorite K. Chandler tunes…
I loved all these Happy Trax records and the fact the Mad Mike/Underground Resistance was behind them…
Claude Young. So damn deep…
This was the most futuristic thing I had ever heard when it dropped. Blew my little 15 year old mind.
I was wondering where lfo was.
Plus
The black dog , orbital , r&s , rephlex , gpr, worm interface , planet mu, etc etc.
Yes, loved the above mentioned trance europe express cds. Fav:
And of course artificial intelligence compilation incl the hidden scanner track, thanks.
