How can I update OS Analogue Rytm Mk2 [resolved]

I’ve had my AR mk2 for a little over a week now, and hope not to produce too many silly questions.
On visiting the Elektron site I noticed that Overbridge hasn’t been made available yet, some advice would be welcomed on developments of the system.
Also I noticed and downloaded a new OS update for the AR mK2. However, I was unable to run or upload the update to my device. I notice that .syx is a MIDI exclusive file, yet can’t find the means to successfully open the file. Win7 says it is corrupt. Have tried the file transfer software downloaded from Elektron, Winzip and finally dumping it onto a MIDI track in Cubase 8.5. (64bt) Nothing has worked.
Has anyone a solution or work around please? Thanks G

You tried uploading with C6? You can also try https://www.snoize.com/SysExLibrarian/ to send the sysex file. The file is just a stream of bytes so you won’t be “opening” it with anything, just sending it.

Hey Mekohler, Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately the Snoize Librarian is Mac only. I read in the forum about C6 not working in Windows. The Elektron Transfer program states OS updates will run providing the device is in OS upgrade mode. This is not the case. G

c6 works fine in windows. Just make sure you close your daw before you try it.

I’ve been looking for it to no avail. Is it an Elektron program? Thanks G

Yeah, strangely they hide it a little bit. It’s not available on every device download page, but it can be used with all elektron devices.

That’s it! Working now and I’ve managed to retrieve my lost project (star button x2) Thanks G
