How Can I Make Syntakt Sound Like a Korg Mini Pops?

Yeah, I find there’s almost nothing you cant do if you stack 2 or 3 sounds in order to make a composite sound. Thankfully there are enough tracks on the ST so you can do this for a single sound, and still end up having enough tracks for the rest of the pattn

i had a similar thought when i heard the Jess Williamson song “time aint accidental” where she used that Funkbox ios app which samples old drum machines, to incorporate an entirely cr-78 percussive rhythm

never got very far, but didnt try hard enough. id love to be able recreate the cymbals, toms, snare, and clav from that thing

I started on a CR-78 kit for the Syntakt, but only did three sounds so far. I love the sound of the CR-78, would be awesome to do a whole it for it. I’ll give it a try when I find the time.

Thanks! Sounds decent :slightly_smiling_face:

for sure! I know that it will probably be useful for others as well as myself.

For me this is as much an exercise in internalizing sound design using the ST as it is about creating a perfect replica. This is very much the kind of response I was hoping for, thank you.

I’m happy to hear that

Here’s the project file. The relevant pattern is F06. Pattern F07 contains the Mini Pops 7 rubbery sounds. (I could’t be arsed to create a new project so there’s a lot of other rubbish there). Hope you enjoy!
