OB locks up on my system and generates to high latency, I need to change “sounds” (or paches, if you will)
but the A4 does not respond to a simple program change from DAW?
I see there are several banks in the A4 as I auditioned the first 1000 patches, reach bank can hold up 256 sounds
how to I acces threse via my daw with a bank and program change, the manual doesn’t provide help here.
it does, it will make it clear what program changes are actually for, it’s not that, the first search hit in the manual will spell it out … pattern changing
you can’t do what you want, this is not the way the A4 workflow is structured
I’m sorry, I don’t care about PATTERNS, Why would I make sets of 4 sounds (KITS) and start flipping kits through program changes? that’s ridiculous. saving an empty pattern nbr per project.
I think it CAN be done as it is done via OB, it’s just a matter of documenting the right CC / NPRN values.
I don’t use the A4 in bigger DAW projects as a groovebox, but as a 4 channel multitimbral synth.
using the A4 sequencer for larger complicated tracks is just to cumbersome, arranging in Cubase is then so much faster.
So I just created 1 kit called Cubase, which has everything zero’d out and it works perfectly. except for patch changes.

yeah, Kits it is then I guess introduced latency when enabling OB is too high even without using audio.
OB mode with analogue audio messes up timing in my system. midi mode is super tight.
maybe I’ll try the autochannel to trigger some patterns and see how that works.
You can change kits/patterns with Multi Map too, immediate changes with direct jump.
