Hot Chip in the studio

Saw a recent FB post by Hot Chip in the studio, Rytm MkII next to a 909 plus a lot of other cool bits of kit in the background. Does anyone know if they use the Rytm on their releases?

I discovered them not long ago, and bought all Releases
Pretty much one of the few stuff I can listen to nowadays.

Joe Goddard’s solo records and The Two Bears are also worth checking out.

dunno about the RYTM but can confirm they’ve been using MD since like 2005. source: seeing them live back then.

I discovered them around when I found LCD Soundsystem. I liked the music part of their music, but the vocals never felt like they messaged with the tune. Maybe I need to give them another chance, listen with an ear out for Elektron sounds

I was at Pet sounds record store in Stockholm to buy this australian punkcompilation named Do the pop! in 2004 and when I went to the counter they played Playboy on the stereo so I asked what the hell is this I need this. And the young hip dude said oh its just in from UK, its incredible so I said sell it to me now. Then I went up to this high spot overlookin Sthlm and smoked a pipe of hash and listened to Coming on strong 3 times. It was a lovely day.

Playboy is a fucking jam! Blew my mind the first time I heard it too.

Vocals can be an acquired taste with HC but I love them both now… Goddard definitely helps balance it out.

Another jam :space_invader:

Did you know they share a nember? Al Doyle is a major contributor to both. Mostly on guitar duty when I saw HC last year, but for LCD he’s a multi-instrumentalist savant. Super entertaining to watch.

I remember seeing this on Fact from a few years back on how Joe Goddard makes a track…

I did not, thanks for sharing! I clearly need to put HC back in the rotation
