Hello!
What kind of cables do I need to be able to sequence my Bass Station 2 with my A4? Like Dataline does in this video but with the Minibrute.
Thank you!

You can’t. the BS2 doesn’t have CV inputs. You would need a CV to MIDI converter to do this, have not tried this myself but it’s definitely possible.
On that video, A4 is not sequencing the Bass Station. Instead A4 is sending Midi Clock and Bass Station 2 is running its own ARP Sequencer.
The Output of Bass Station 2 is processed by the A4 also.
Ah, okay. That’s too bad!
I will get a Volca Bass soon. Can I sequence that one?
No, you could clock it with CV, but the Monotribe can be CV clocked OR pitch/gate controlled over CV - but… be careful setting up CV clock pulses (fake audio) and keep the volts low …yhbw !
Monotribe needs a special cable btw
Okay, thank you all for the help!
Do you know where I could buy a converter like that? Is it a rare item or do they have them in regular music stores?
It would be so nice to be able to sequence the BS2…!
they’re not rare, in fact some synths do this, like Dark Energy or Waldorf Pulse plus and maybe Pulse 2 - best get some user feedback before proceeding, may not be all you hope for !
Sorry, but NO! Those are MIDI to CV converters, he’d want a CV to MIDI converter. Totally different kind of thing.
Those are actually not as common as the other way round, though they mostly come in form of modules like the Doepfer A-192-1.
yeah as far as i know the moog minitaur is one of the only mere mortal price bracket synth that has cv to midi capability.
could be wrong tho
this is where the OT fits nicely into the chain…midi sequencing gear
…speaking of the minitaur…mine should be arriving soon…can’t wait
Sorry, but YES! The Waldorf Pulse Plus does this … so
Totally that kind of thing …
“Via the inputs CV In and Gate In the control voltage of an external keyboard or synthesizer can be transformed into MIDI data. The notes generated on this way can be used to trigger the sound generation of the Pulse. Also they can be sent out at the MIDI Out jack for recording and postprocessing”
DE was a bad guess as i have one (no out), Pulse 2 a guess as well, Pulse + not a guess !
Thanks, that’s great, I didn’t know. Btw. the Qnexus also has dual CV in but I couldn’t find out if it is capable to convert it to MIDI note messages. It can do CCs at least.
it is so nice, OT/A4 effects sound boss with it. Can make a really mean kick drum too… You will enjoy it immensely
@Dawid think about the Microbrute or Minibrute before the Volca Bass. I feel like there are more creative possibilities and room to learn with the Arturia stuff, also will last in the studio because it has such great I/O

nirun…yep, that’s my plan…I always seem to be falling short on “voices” with my A4 so the minitaur should help on bass duty I’m actually a bass player so it will be right up my alley…not that I worry much about the A4 being a little weak on the bass side like some do but…it will be a non-factor with the minitaur in the line up heheh
have to agree on the volca bass, I have one…I don’t plan on selling it or anything and I think it is great analog for the price but it’s pretty limited…I would opt for spending a little more for something that is more versatile (especially in the sound design department)
