Hello folks,
This is something I already noticed with the Syntakt a year ago, and even contacted the support, who helped me finding a workaround, but I recently got a DT2, and noticed the same behavior is present.
So the thing is: if one of the tracks plays long notes from an external sequencer, holding any trig (even trigless trigs) on any track will affect the length of the long notes being played.
Here’s an example: PXL_20241112_155823548.mp4 - Google Drive
In this example the Oxi One plays the long bass notes on track 9, and whenever I hold a kick trig on track 1 (around 0:15 in the video), the playback of track 9 gets interrupted earlier than it should.
As I mentioned, there is a workaround, which is going to track 9 and setting the default note length to what you expect it to be (in my case 32, but INF works fine too), but most of all, I’m curious, why is it even a thing? If it’s a voluntary feature, I would be curious to know who would even want it and what for. If it’s a bug, then i feel like it’s kinda weird that it managed to live through two generations of devices (as it’s also present at least on the Syntakt).
Opinions?
