After 39 battles, the thread went quiet for a bit. Maybe we hit the winter blues, maybe life just got in the way. But one thing we all know about hip hop: we don’t stay down for long!
So here it is — Battle #40.
This one’s not just about flipping samples. It’s about reviving the spirit of these battles, dusting off forgotten folders, and proving again what we can do when we throw sounds at each other.
The challenge is simple: Resurrect something.
- Flip something from the Resurrection Crate (below).
- Or sample something another participant posts here (their “please resurrect this” contribution).
- Revive an unfinished beat/project/sample of your own (yes, even that Memphis #39 draft
).
Rules:

Bass & drums: free choice.

Other instruments/synths: allowed.

Vocals: snippets/hooks/dialogue fine, no full acapellas (unless that’s your resurrected element).

Length: max 3:00.

Sample posting window (14 days): until Sunday September 14
